Flowers

Fresh flowers can brighten up your home and refresh the smell of room but often die too quickly.

In this quick how-to video, we explain how a little bleach and sugar can extend their display life.

First add 2 tbsp of sugar and 1.5 tsp of bleach to 1L of water.

Stir thoroughly until the sugar is completely dissolved.

Pour this mixture it your selected vase.

Next cut flower stems at a 45 degree angle with sharp scissors.

They’re now ready to pop in the vase.

Refresh the water mixture every three days.

The secret to this trick is the sugar continues to feed the flowers and their stems, while the bleach prevents a build up bacteria in the water, slowing the decomposition of the flowers.
