1. Alinghi Beach house, Agnes Water, Queensland, Australia

This beach house was built so residents’ feel like they are floating on the ocean and has been described as a “floating shipping container”. It was voted as one of the world’s top five beach houses and was designed by Australian architect, James Grose of Bligh Voller Nield.

2. Azuris, Hamilton Island, Australia

The main feature (aside from a stunning ocean view, of course) of this Hamilton Island home is the infinity pool. The pool wraps around the main pavilion, so residents’ are only one step away from immersing themselves in water while they enjoy views of the Coral Sea.

3. Seascape Retreat, Pigeon Bay, Canterbury, New Zealand

This beachside cottage is only accessible via helicopter or four-wheel-drive…talk about exclusive! Built inside a rock escarpment, this home was dreamed up and created by Auckland architect, Andrew Patterson of Patterson Associates.

It has only three rooms, a lobby, an open plan living and sleeping area and a bathroom. Glass walls overlook the ocean. The perfect location for a quiet getaway, in our opinion.

4. Amanzi Kamal, Cape Sol Villa, Phuket, Thailand

Located in a ravine along Cape Amarin, this estate is truly decadent. The home is three levels and the design spans 2644 square meters (3162 square yard).

The property was designed so that indoor and outdoor spaces were integrated with tropical private gardens planted over two levels.
