Store tools using polystyrene foam

If you like having tools out in the open and accessible when you need them, then this could be the storage solution for you.
This handy tool rack is super-simple to make and keeps tools right where you need them, when you need them.
To make it, all you need is a piece of dowel and polystyrene foam balls, available from craft stores.
Simple insert the dowel into to the balls, then secure the dowel in your workshop wherever you need access to tools.
Then, drive the tools into the foam balls. This is ideal for sharp or pointy tools like screwdrivers, drill bits, paintbrushes, as the soft foam means they can be inserted easily.
Alternatively you could set up a similar tool rack using old foam packaging, creating a free tool storage set-up that also prevents excess waste from going into landfill.
