Drilling into tiles can be tricky business. The surface can cause the drill bit to slip and slide leading to less than perfect results. One way to fix this problem is to use cardboard. Cut a square of cardboard and use tape to stick it over the area you plan to drill into.

Then mark the drilling location on the cardboard and get going.
