Masking tape is one of those items that can sit in the drawer for months, or even years without being used. During this time it can dry out making it hard, or even impossible to unwind.

The solution to this is simple: put the masking tape in the microwave!

Heating time will vary depending on your microwave power settings but you shouldn’t need to heat the masking tape for more than 30 seconds. We recommend heating the tape for 10 seconds at first, and then repeating as necessary.
