Tying two cords together
Tie two cords together to prevent them coming unplugged

Sometimes it’s the simple tips that are the best ones. The tips that solve an everyday problem that everyone has are the ones that you’ll pass on to your friends and family to help them in daily life.

This tip for keeping extensions cords together is one our favourites, so we’ve created a handy video for you to share with friends and family.

Extensions cords are often essential when using power tools far from an outlet, as well as when vacuuming the floor and tidying up the garden.

The only problem is when cords accidently come unplugged. There’s nothing more annoying than your tool or appliance suddenly powering down and refusing to cooperate, especially if you’re in the middle of a complex DIY task.

To solve this problem, simply tie the ends of the cords together before plugging them in.

That way, if the cord is accidently pulled, the extension cord remains plugged in and your appliance won’t conk out in the middle of the job.
