Handyman Staffers Favourite Flowers

There’s a new board on the Handyman Pinterest page called: Grow Beautiful Flowers. It features a collection of stunning blooms and tips on how to plant them.

While discussing this new board, we Handyman staffers got to talking about our own favourite flowers. It turns out no one had a favourite flower in common and everyone explained their choice with a comment like, “it smells nice” or “it’s so pretty”. It seems we are a superficial bunch.

Flowers have a lot more use than looking and smelling good, but it can’t be denied that it is these sensory features that ignite an initial attraction. We are therefore unashamed of the shallow reasoning behind our flower choices. In fact, the reasoning is not so shallow when you consider past experiences, style preferences, interests and personality are all factors that influence what we perceive to be beautiful.

What this discussion really drove home for the Handyman staff is that we should really put extra thought into what flowers we choose to feature in our homes and gardens, as these choices can end up being reflections of ourselves as well!

So, with that in mind, here’s a glimpse into the different personalities on the Handyman staff.
