The gap between cabinets makes for a great hiding spot for important documents and even envelopes filled with emergency cash. Attach two binder clips to each corner of the papers you wish to hide and then slide them inside the gap between two cabinets or shelves.

The binder clips will stop the papers from sliding down and if the cabinets are high enough, the tops of the clips will not be visible to passersby.
