Forget bulky knife blocks, create more streamlined built-in knife storage by including knife slots directly into your countertop.

To make a 25mm slot in a benchtop, drill two holes side by side using a 2mm twist bit on either side of the slot and cut between using a jigsaw and narrow curve cutting blade. Ensure the underside of the bench is boxed in for safety.

Built-in counter storage allows you to store knives in a single file so that less space is used and also creates an attractive display.
