It can be difficult to determine whether or not a plant needs water. There are obvious signs like brown, wilting leaves but otherwise it can feel like guesswork.
Overwatering plants can be just as detrimental as not watering enough so learning how to make an informed judgement call is beneficial.
One way you can asses a plant is to dip your finger into the soil. If the soil is dry 1cm deep then the plant needs water.
