In this DIY video, Adam shows how to make a concrete house number.

They serve an important function, yet house numbers are often overlooked as a design feature.

So make yours stand out to make sure visitors and delivery people can find your place every time.

We created a house number that can’t be missed, and doubles as a piece of modern landscape art, by using a simple concrete casting technique.

Cut a plywood mould, mix up a batch of coloured concrete and pour it over letters or numerals. We used 200mm high characters, so if smaller characters are used, bear in mind some raised sections may be too fragile.

You can easily adapt this technique to create other pieces of garden art. Just make sure you work on a surface that can support the load of the concrete. Or lay a tarp and work on the ground.
