Wishing you a HealthSmart summer
It’s a funny thing, this attitude we have to the summer sun. For starters, we’d need our heads buried in the sand from November to March to escape health education campaigns about slapping on sunscreen and avoiding the midday rays. Yet it’s a rare Australian who doesn’t reckon that “healthy glow” of a tan looks a whole lot better than “pale and” – what is it they say? – “interesting”?
After all, it’s hard to argue against the natural mood boost we get after a few moments in the sun. And there’s even proof UV light kick-starts an addictive high – scientists are calling it tanorexia.
So before you venture any further, check out our special HealthSmart report, “Boost Your Sun Sense”, starting on page 24. We’ve packed it with clever and realistic ways to keep healthy while still enjoying the beautiful outdoors.
We knew before we launched HealthSmart that Australians are hungry for bright, quality health information – and the brilliant feedback we’ve been getting on our first issue shows just how true that is. The response from readers and advertisers has been phenomenal, and already our circulation is double initial projections and climbing above 90,000. That makes HealthSmart the leading health magazine in Australia – even as we invite you to delve into this, our second issue! Thank you.
Do please write with your feedback and tell us what you would like to read about in future issues. And have a wonderful summer.
