Casa Batlló otherwise known as, House of Bones, is a home located in Barcelona, Spain. The home received its nickname due to the skeleton like quality of its exterior. The house was built in 1877 but it received its unique design only after a renovation helmed by architect, Antoni Gaudí, in 1904.

Scandinavians were building green roof houses way before they were popular. Sod roof or turf roof houses are traditional in Scandinavian countries, particularly Norway, where they have been built for hundreds of years. Some people even date them back to prehistoric times.

Rock houses like this (also known as fairy chimneys) can be found in the Cappadocia, Turkey. In this region, fairy chimneys are natural occurences and throughout history they have been a home to different groups, including exiled Christians.
